I can always rely on French girls for chic outfit inspo. They're known for their effortless style, which relies heavily on elevated basics, lots of neutrals, and hints of vintage flair. Parisians, in particular, have mastered the art of timeless dressing while remaining very of-the-moment by incorporating on-trend accessories and silhouettes.

Now that summer is winding down, I've started gathering intel on what French girls will be wearing this fall. (After all, they do it best.) And while I wish I could teleport to Paris to see these looks firsthand, I'll happily settle with Instagram for now. Below, shop the six chic French-inspired looks that I'm stealing.

Outfit #1

This chic ensemble is a prime example of how French girls mix classic wardrobe staples with trend-forward pieces. The skinny blue scarf and ballet flats add a fun, creative touch to an otherwise everyday outfit.

Sweater weather is just around the corner, and this cozy crew-neck is a fall must-have.

The relaxed, slouchy fit of these jeans makes them so easy to style. And the dark wash is perfect for day and night ensembles.

The elegant white strap elevates these chic ballet flats by French girl–favorite brand Jacquemus.

With just the right width, this classic leather belt is the secret to tying this outfit together. And the quality speaks for itself.

Skinny scarfs are having a moment, and I'm loving it. It's a simple way to bring color and personality to your wardrobe basics.

A neutral color palette is the backbone of any Parisian wardrobe. Adding a handbag in the color of the season—which is red, by the way—makes for an eye-catching look. Needless to say, I'm saving this outfit for fall office days.

This subtle plaid pattern is so timeless. I'll reach for this blazer again and again.

This versatile denim midi skirt can be styled in endless ways. Wear it with a turtleneck and booties or a fuzzy cardigan and sneakers.

Slingback heels make a powerful statement, and the gold hardware on this pair adds a touch of sophistication.

Though neutrals are intrinsic to most French girls, sometimes it's nice to switch things up. This Parisian demonstrates her unique take on classic fall staples (e.g. a striped sweater and corduroy pants) by incorporating a refreshing color palette throughout.

This colorful striped sweater is so soft, and it's on sale.

I love a nostalgic '70s trend. The navy shade of these corduroys makes them easy to dress up or down.

Block heels are a cute and comfortable way to get a little height.

Many summer dresses transition well into fall depending on how you style them. Trading in sandals for tall leather boots is just one way to reinvent the look.

The bold red color feels so romantic, and I love the knot detailing. This dress is giving main-character energy.

This knee-high leather boot is shaping up to be my most worn pair.

Textured gold hoops are my latest obsession.

The half-moon bag silhouette is one of my favorite design trends, and Longchamp (another classic French brand) nailed it with this one.

The most important thing to remember about fall is that the temperature sways drastically depending on the time of day. By now, French girls know the drill. They outsmart the weather by pairing lightweight separates with an extra-warm layer.

Yet another trend that fashion girls have happily adopted: striped wide-leg pants.

High wearability is the name of the game.

This sleek black trench coat is made from 100% cotton and has a water-resistant coating, making this a wardrobe mainstay well into winter.

This Danish brand caught my eye with its edgy and fun handbag designs. And the quality is just as impressive.

The cherished sneaker style that keeps on giving.

Outfit #6

I couldn't imagine a more classic Parisian outfit for fall. This is yet another example of how to style wardrobe basics with vintage pieces like this leather jacket and these textured ankle boots. The combination creates an outfit that feels effortless.

The faux-fur collar on this jacket is detachable (so cool, right?), so you can wear it with so many different looks.

High-quality straight-leg jeans will never go out of style, and these are under $100—I'd say that's a steal.

The croc-effect leather is so sleek and adds a nice texture to any fall ensemble.
